Abstract
  In the context of globalization, the cultivation of intercultural awareness has become one of the key ob jectives in primary school English education. This study aims to explore how systematic instructional design and activities can effectively foster students' intercultural awareness in primary school English classrooms. A quasi-experimental research method was employed, with fifth-grade students from three primary schools in a city serving as participants, and data were collected through questionnaires, classroom observations, and interviews. The study designed curriculum modules centered on cultural comparison, cultural situation simulation, and multicultural perspectives, which were integrated into regular English instruction. The results indicate that after one semester of intervention, the intercultural awareness of students in the experimental group significantly improved, as evidenced by their deeper understanding of cultural diversity, enhanced cultural sensitivity, and the initial development of intercultural communication skills. Additionally, teacher feedback suggests that this instructional model helps stimulate students' interest and initiative in learning. The innovation of this study lies in its integration of intercultural awareness cultivation with primary school English teaching content, proposing practical teaching strategies that provide valuable references for related practices. The findings demonstrate that intercultural education can be effectively implemented at the primary level through scientific design and implementation, laying a foundation for students' lifelong development.
