ETIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS AND THERAPEUTIC ADVANCES IN FELINE LOWER URINARY TRACT SYNDROME
ABSTRACT
Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) is a common and complex condition in the field of veterinary medicine, characterized by diverse etiologies and incompletely understood pathogenic mechanisms. This study aims to systematically analyze the potential causes of FLUTD and evaluate the advancements and limitations of current treatment strategies. By conducting a retrospective analysis of clinical case data, laboratory test results, and imaging examination materials, combined with molecular biological techniques for pathogen identification and classification, this research further elucidates the multifactorial etiology of FLUTD. The findings indicate that urinary tract infections, urolithiasis, functional bladder diseases, and environmental stress are the primary triggers of FLUTD, with the role of environmental factors being significantly underestimated. In terms of treatment, in addition to traditional antibiotics and surgical interventions, this study innovatively introduces microbiota-modulating therapy based on the gut-urinary axis, which markedly improves the prognosis of some patients. Furthermore, a comprehensive evaluation model is proposed to predict high-risk individuals at an early stage and develop personalized treatment plans. In summary, this study not only enhances the understanding of FLUTD etiology but also provides new insights and technical support for clinical diagnosis and treatment, holding significant theoretical and practical implications.
