Abstract

  Welfare economics, as a critical theoretical fr amework for studying the efficiency and equity of social resource allocation, provides profound analytical insights into the issue of educational equity. Grounded in welfare economics, this study integrates empirical data and normative analysis methods to reveal the intrinsic relationship between educational equity and resource allocation and to propose optimization pathways. By constructing a multi-dimensional evaluation index system for educational equity and applying econometric models, the study conducts a quantitative analysis of the current status of educational resource distribution across different regions and groups in China, identifying significant imbalances among regions, urban and rural areas, and schools. Furthermore, the study incorporates the social welfare function to explore the optimal allocation of educational resources from the perspective of balancing efficiency and equity, offering policy recommendations based on the principle of Pareto improvement. The innovation of this research lies in its integration of welfare economics theory with the practice of educational equity, transcending traditional single-dimensional research paradigms while emphasizing the critical role of dynamic adjustment mechanisms in achieving educational equity. The findings not only provide a new perspective for understanding the complexity of educational equity but also offer scientific evidence for policymakers to optimize the allocation of educational resources, thereby possessing important theoretical significance and practical implications.
