Abstract

Sludge anaerobic digestion is an important sludge treatment technology, which converts organic matter in sludge into useful products such as methane through the biochemical reaction of microorganisms under anaerobic conditions, and at the same time realizes the stabilization and reduction of sludge. With the progress of sludge anaerobic digestion, the structure and number of microbial communities will change. This variation is affected by a variety of factors, including reactor temperature, pressure, oxygen supply, concentration of organic matter, and sludge feeding method. Different operating conditions and reactor structure will have different effects on the growth and reproduction of microbial communities, and then affect the efficiency and stability of sludge anaerobic digestion. The effects of sludge based biochar and other enhancers on microbial communities during sludge anaerobic digestion were also discussed. The experimental results show that the addition of sludge-based biochar can change the composition and abundance of microbial community, promote the growth and reproduction of some beneficial microorganisms, and thus improve the efficiency of sludge anaerobic digestion and methane production. In addition, the addition of biochar may also improve the degradation rate and stability of sludge by improving the physical and chemical properties of sludge. The change of microbial community during sludge anaerobic digestion is an important factor affecting the efficiency and stability of sludge treatment. Through in-depth study of the composition, structure and dynamic changes of microbial communities, the key role and mechanism of microorganisms in sludge anaerobic digestion can be revealed, and theoretical basis and practical guidance can be provided for the optimization of sludge treatment technology.
